Safer Internet Day is a global awareness campaign celebrated every year in more than 100 countries. Since 2013, ConnectSafely has been the official host of U.S. activities.

The 2020 theme: “Together for a Better Internet.”

On Tuesday, February 11 ConnectSafely will bring together students, youth leaders, educators, policy makers, parents, internet safety experts and tech industry executives for a special student-focused event at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View.

Past speakers include Sen. Chuck Schumer, Sen. Kamala Harris and Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, as well as local luminaries. Sponsors of the event, which will be live streamed to classrooms around the country, include Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Trend Micro, and Symantec.

Previous education partners include Los AngelesĀ  Unified School District, Philadelphia School District, District of Columbia Public Schools, Austin Independent School District, Seattle Public Schools and the National PTA.
